The Brief

TVOX was proud to be involved in the Chineke! Junior Orchestra. A youth ensemble made up of talented Black and ethnically diverse musicians aged 11 to 22. Our role was to capture both the behind-the-scenes rehearsal and the final performance at Fairfield Halls, Croydon, marking the orchestra’s return from a successful European tour.

The Process

With sensitivity and creative care, we filmed the orchestra’s summer residential, focusing on both the energy of rehearsals and the emotional intensity of the final performance. The event featured moving renditions of works by Margaret Bonds, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, and a debut piece by Tristen J T Watts. Our goal was to honour the Chineke visually! The family’s mission of representation and excellence in classical music is to create a rich and authentic record of a powerful musical experience.
